Hello beautiful people!! Here at The Closet by A Beautiful Me, we have a very exciting new idea from our emerge360 teen, Addy Christoff, that is being put into action. In today’s blog post I will be talking about this amazing teen inspired idea, and diving deeper into emerge360’s 201 Business Certification Program and what it exactly is.
In each of the original, Business Certification levels, offered by The Closet by A Beautiful Me, there are three modules. In the 201 level we learn:
- Project-Based Learning
- Social Media Etiquette
- Point of Sale System
During the first module in 201, you work with a mentor to learn about what goes behind a business and how it functions, the marketing side of things, and what they do to make it all happen. In this module you go through a series of steps to be able to help you come up with a project that will help benefit The Closet by A Beautiful Me. After you complete this series of steps and have ideas for your project, you present it to the entire A Beautiful Me team and they innovate off of your ideas to make it the best it can be, and work to figure out how to make it possible.
The second module in 201 focuses on learning about the social media side of things. During this module you will get to learn about how social media can represent a business and how it creates a first impression for people. For example, our social media shows people that may not know who we are or what our purpose is, that we not only are a dress and accessory store, but we also teach teen girls business and philanthropy skills. Our Instagram and Facebook page represents this, and A Beautiful Me’s YouTube channel represents our vision to build confidence in all women.
In the last module, you will learn how to work the sales register and sell items to customers. During this, you will learn more about customer service and what it is like to sell something to someone. We go through a process here because we want everyone to feel welcomed and comfortable, so we want to do our best to make every transaction enjoyable. You will also learn how to count the register and make sure we even out each day through our Point of Sale system.
Addy’s family travels to the upper peninsula a lot and she noticed that there are a lot of murals and paintings on old buildings there. This made her think about the plain brick wall we have on the side of our building, and she is a very creative person and wanted to create some sort of a mural of our own to put there, so Addy came up with the idea to create a banner to display and attract more customers. Once she presented it our team everyone was in love with the idea and so excited to make it happen. Addy designed a banner and we were all so excited to make this happen!!
Addy’s banner will be displayed in the windows of our retail store and revealed on A Beautiful Me’s 15th birthday, Monday, April 24th at 4pm. Our team is so excited for this to be able to happen, and we are even more excited to share it with all of you! Stop in at The Closet by A Beautiful Me in downtown Port Huron, at 235 Huron Avenue. We are open Mondays-Fridays 12-6pm and Saturdays 10am-3pm!
